Kentucky Discard is the official tournament version of the card game Rook.

Rook is a trick-taking game played with a specialized deck of cards. It involves four players, each paired with a partner, and a deck containing 41 special cards numbered 5 through 14. The cards come in Black, Green, Red, and Yellow colors, with one special Bird card included.

This application offers a card game experience similar to tournament Rook. Players can enjoy playing against 12 different AI characters, each designed with unique skill levels and playing styles.

In Rook, the "5" cards are valued at 5 points, while the "10" and "14" cards carry 10 points each. The Bird card holds the highest value of 20 points. Other cards do not contribute to the point tally.

At the beginning of each round, the deck is distributed among players, and five additional cards are placed in the center as the nest.

Subsequent to the deal, players bid on the number of points they anticipate their team will earn. The highest bidder gains the privilege to select the trump color, claim the nest to enhance their hand, and discard five unneeded cards.

The game proceeds with the player left of the dealer starting by playing a card of their choosing. Following a specific set of rules regarding color and trumps, players take turns playing cards until a trick is won. The leading color or highest trump determines trick winners, unless the uniquely powerful rook card is played.

Points from collected 5s, 10s, 14s, and the coveted rook card are awarded to the victor of each trick. Additionally, the player who secures the last trick in a round seizes the nest along with any point-laden cards it contains.

Accumulated points from completed rounds contribute to each team's overall score. If the highest bidding team falls short of their bid, they lose accumulated points and suffer a penalty equal to their bid amount from their score total.

The game progresses until one team reaches 300 points, signaling victory!
